Public Information Session: Fair Chance Hiring (City of Denton)

Fair chance hiring initiatives (also known as “ban the box” initiatives due to their goal of removing criminal history question boxes in job applications) generally refer to a policy or practice of not considering an applicant’s criminal history in an employment application until later in the hiring process.  During the town hall, City of Denton staff will:

• give a brief overview of the proposed fair chance hiring ordinance,
• answer questions, and 
• receive feedback from City of Denton residents and businesses.
